SpamAssassin is Free program for Mac OS X developed by SpamAssassin Group
SpamAssassin is a send colander which attempts to catalogue spam using a number of mechanisms including section analysis, Bayesian filtering, DNS blocklists, and collaborative filtering databases. Using its ruling base, it uses a roomy range of heuristic tests on send headers and body section to catalogue "spam", also known as unsolicited commercial email. Once identified, the send can then be optionally tagged as spam seeking later filtering using the practicable's own send user-agent practice. SpamAssassin typically differentiates successfully between spam and non-spam in between 95% and 100% of cases, depending on what kind of send you procure and your training of its Bayesian colander. Specifically, SpamAssassin has been shown to develop around 0.9% false negatives (spam that was missed) and around 0.1% false positives (ham incorrectly marked as spam).
