theWord is Freeware program for Mac OS developed by LutherSoft

theWord is an audio Bible, unlike any other you may have employed before. Instead of only being a recording of someone reading the Bible, theWord uses Apple's mighty voice synthesis to "scan" the Bible to you. Using it's built in database, theWord can navigate to the exact words, chapter, and verse you crave to catch.

Because it uses voice syntheses, preferably of recordings, it is a greatly small download, and does not use excess space on your computer. A usual audio bible recording can span multitudinous CDs.

A usual audio recording of the bible also makes it arduous to mind to your favorite passages. It is shattered up in to tracks based on the chapter. theWord can index the entire bible by verse, so you can pinpoint the passage you crave to catch, and create a "bookmark" of that passage. You can aggregate multitudinous bookmarks in a playlist called "my bookmarks".

If you have no contact with The Bible, theWord includes multitudinous built in playlists with suggested readings, historical highlights, practical passages. With the built in common reading schedule, you can mind to the entire bible in individual year without any question. Put it on your iPod, and you could mind to it during your commute, at the gym, or whenever.
